Men of the Ondo State Police Command attached to Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) have arrested a four-man gang in Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the four men were arrested in the residence of one of the political leaders in the town.
A police source disclosed to Tribune Online that the four men were arrested by SARS officials after an intelligence-gathering by the security operatives.
He said the officials acted on a tip-off and went in pursuit of the men and arrested them after discovering some weapons in their possession.
Some of the weapons recovered from the four men according to the police source include four shotguns, AK 47 and other assorted guns, magazines and bullets.
The suspects were however transferred to the headquarters of SARS in Akure, Ondo State capital.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Mr. Tee-Leo Ikoro confirmed the arrest of the four suspects.
He said the suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) and the command had been interrogating the suspects.
