Sabongida-Ora Anglican Diocese gets new bishop

A new bishop, Rt Rev’d Augustine Ehijimentor Ohilebo, was on Saturday enthroned for the Diocese of Sabongida-Ora, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion.

The enthronement which held St John’s Anglican Cathedral, Sabongida-Ora, Owan West Local Government Area, was performed by the Archbishop of Anglican Province of Bendel, The Most Rev’d Friday Imaekhai, on the authority of the Anglican Primate, The Most Rev’d Nicholas Okoh.

A letter from the Archbishop and Primate of All Nigeria, Reverend Nicholas Okoh, introducing Ohilebo as the elected Bishop of Sabongidda-Ora Diocese was read by Barr Francis Okanigbuan, Registrar of Sabongidda-Ora Diocese.

Speaking on his vision for the diocese, the new Anglican Bishop praised the College of Bishops for considering worthy to be elected Bishop.

Bishop Ohilebo promised to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessors as well as ensure the Diocese is known for humility, integrity, dedication, loyalty to constituted authority and faithfulness.

Ohilebo charged clergymen in the Diocese to strictly adhere to their responsibilities, just as he warned against laziness and lukewarm attitude in the discharge of priestly responsibilities.

He promised to bridge communication gap in the Diocese and assured that welfare of the clergy is of utmost importance.

He also pledged to revive the diocese’s cassava processing factory and pure water factory, and pledged to establish a printing press for diocese with the set of printing machines donated to the diocese.

His words, “Our administration shall be committed to the revamping of these structures. With God, all things are possible. We should be ready to give up anything if God ask us to do so”.

Reverend Ohilebo attended the Ezekiel College of Theology, Ujoelen-Ekpoma where he obtained Diploma in Religious Studies and Diploma in Theology. He was ordained in 2004 before he proceeded to the Amrose Alli University, Ekpoma where he studied Religious Management and Cultural Studies. He third bishop of Sabongida-Ora Diocese.
