Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, has warned that any contractors who failed to meet up with contract specifications will have their contract canceled or revoked outrightly.
He urged those delaying the execution of the road projects across the 25 local government councils of the state to speed up work with the view to ensure the timely completion of the projects.
Bago gave the warning during an interactive session with contractors handling road projects held at the Council Chamber, Government House, Minna.
He commended the contractors that have fully executed roads and other major projects as the state government will not compromise in its developmental strides as June 2025 has been set aside as the deadline to complete the road projects.
Bago informed the contractors that his decision to stop the Certificate of Valuation of some of the contractors in the bank was because he was not satisfied with their level of work, while those who had performed well would be paid immediately.

The Governor, however, directed the Commissioner for Finance, Lawal Maikano, to liquidate all the money tied down to the Advanced Payment Guarantee (APG) to enable contractors to have access to funds for project execution and warned contractors to be responsible and ensure that they complete the road projects at the stipulated time.
