Reps applaud Armed Forces’ role in democratic dispensation

The House of Representatives, on Wednesday, assured retired security personnel and families of fallen heroes of its resolve to ensure improved welfare.

The assurance was given via a statement issued by the Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Benjamin Kalu.

Hon. Kalu, who eulogised the military and other security agencies for their gallantry in the fight against terrorism, acknowledged the utmost sacrifice being paid the Armed Forces toward sustaining democracy.

According to him: “On this 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, the 9th House of Representatives celebrates our men and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces

“Every moment of peace, every giant stride in our democracy and every liberty we enjoy as Nigerians each day is indubitably a result of your bravery and valiant sacrifice in service of the fatherland

“The 9th House of Representatives will continue to utilize all constitutional powers to ensure better welfare for veterans and for the families of our fallen heroes
