Evangelist Isaac Omolehin, the General Superintendent of the Word Commission International, has stated that the relentless pursuit of progress and advancement, often described as the ‘rat race’, will persist among humanity until the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Speaking during the January 2025 edition of the Family Prayer Convocation, Evangelist Omolehin highlighted how technological advancements have drastically improved the speed and efficiency of human activities over time.

Recalling the early days of aviation, he said, “The first flight of KLM to Nigeria from Amsterdam in 1957 took 52 hours. You fly a little and land a little. They pour oil somewhere, pour water, then kick it again, fly, and land it a little. But now, that’s a trip you can now make to go and do a meeting there and return the same day.”
He also reflected on the evolution of pilgrimage journeys, stating, “People used to trek from Ilorin to Mecca. It takes one year to go and one year to come back.”
Drawing attention to modern innovations, he noted, “They are making some travelling machines in America that would leave New York and arrive in London in one hour. So everything is saying we are looking forward. That’s the way the rat race will continue to be till Jesus comes.”
