Prioritise Osogbo development, boundary issues at stakeholders’ meeting, group urges Ataoja

Published by

The Oroki United Front has appealed to the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, to ensure that discussions at the proposed meeting between the Ataoja-in-Council and other stakeholders focus on critical issues affecting the development and territorial integrity of Osogbo.

The group made the appeal in a statement by its coordinator, Abass Jayeola, following reports of a planned meeting at the Ataoja’s palace.

According to the statement, the meeting presents an opportunity for the traditional institution to seek clarification on issues the group believes are of paramount importance to the people of Osogbo, particularly matters relating to infrastructure development in the state capital.

The group called for discussions on unresolved boundary issues involving Osogbo, urging the monarch and members of the Ataoja-in-Council to seek clarification on the town’s territorial boundaries, including areas around the Osun State government secretariat and other disputed locations.

It urged participants to seek updates from the state government on commitments made to the people of Osogbo, stressing that the town’s development and welfare should remain top priorities.

The group also appealed to the Ataoja to continue providing fatherly leadership and ensure that the traditional institution speaks in the overall interest of the people of Osogbo during the engagement.

It equally called on Baales, compound heads, youth leaders and other members of the Ataoja-in-Council to approach the meeting objectively and ensure that the aspirations, concerns and developmental needs of the people of Osogbo are clearly articulated.
