Presidential aide, Sumaila, resigns to contest Reps seat

THE Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives), Hon. Kawu Sumaila has resigned his appointment.

President Muhammadu Buhari has therefore appointed Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub as his replacement.

Sumaila, who appointed in August 2015, resigned to contest for membership of the House of Representatives representing Sumaila/Takai Federal Constituency in Kano State under the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), El-Yakub, an All Progressive Congress (APC) stalwart from Kano State, was a member of the House of Representatives, 1998 and 2003-2007 representing Kano Municipal Federal Constituency.
