Some hoodlums, yet to be identified, have vandalised two Automated Teller Machines (ATM) of a commercial bank (name withheld) in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, carting away undisclosed amount of money.
Tribune Online gathered that the incident, which happened during the early hours of Thursday at New Yidi road in the metropolis, also saw the criminals setting the machines ablaze.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state police command, Ajayi Okasanmi, who confirmed the incident, said that the command had launched a manhunt for the perpetrators of the ATM vandalisation.
The PPRO said that the Commissioner of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, frowned at the ugly development and had vowed to stop at nothing in apprehending the perpetrators of the highly despicable act.

He appealed to public-spirited individuals to volunteer information that can lead to the arrest of the hoodlums, adding that no effort would be spared to see that the ugly trend was nipped in the bud.
“Investigation is in progress. The perpetrators of this act will be fished out and be made to face the wrath of the law.
“Members of the public are advised to go about their lawful endeavours without any fear, while the business community are to be rest assured that the safety of their lives and property are not under any threat whatsoever.
