The Police in Ogun State has arrested two pupils of Community Primary School, Isheri Olofin, Wahis Musa (6) and Malik Iliasu (9) for setting the school property on fire.
The incident was reported to have happened on Sunday, when the children gained entry into one of the classrooms, gathered books within it together and set them on fire.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, said the incident was reported at the Ojodu-Abiodun Divisional Police Office by a community leader in the locality.
The PPRO said the Anti- Crime Detectives were at the scene of the incident and brought the children to station for interrogation.
She promised that the Police will unravel the circumstances surrounding the fire incident and update members on the public.
Odutola said that the police have started making inquiries on how to contact their parents “as this is a very serious crime for these children to get themselves involved in.”
