The Police authorities in Edo State, have confirmed the arrest of a 32-year-old woman, identified as Janet Dominic, with five firearms and ammunition.
Moses Yamu, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state Command, who confirmed the arrest to journalists on Tuesday, said the arrest was made during the mop up of arms in the state.

He said the arms and ammunition were concealed inside the seat of a motorcycle.
He explained that the suspect was arrested on April 10, 2025 by the command X squad during a raid at the Iguezemwahu community, along Benin-Auchi Road, in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of the State.
Yamu said said one other suspect escaped from the scene on sighting the Police.
He explained that two single-barrel guns, three Pistols, seven live cartridges, one dagger, one trigger part and one Beretta magazine were recovered from the suspect, adding that efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect.
