The police on Monday arraigned a 55-year- old petty trader, Ademola Tajudeen, at an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing N110, 000 from a woman in Jakande Market, Ketu.
Tajudeen, whose address was not given, is charged with theft.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Lucky Ihiehie, told the court that Tajudeen stole the money from a market woman, Mrs Omowunmi Akindulu who sells foodstuff in the market.

He alleged that on March 9, Tajudeen was caught stealing from the complainant’s bag after the day’s sales.
He said that the theft took place at about 6 p.m at Ketu Market.
Ihiehie said that the case was reported at the Ketu Police Station on the same day.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs E. Kubeinje, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N20, 000 with one surety in like sum, and adjourned the case until April 24, for a mention.
