A 27-year-old man, Abioye Gbenga, is facing a two-count charge of theft and felony in a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Osogbo.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports on Wednesday that Gbenga conspired with others, now at large, to commit the crime on Monday at about 1.a.m. at Obelawo area of Osogbo.
According to the Prosecutor, Sgt. Kunle Adeoye, the defendant stole N80,000, one Tecno handset valued at N42,000 and one headset speaker valued at N10,000, all belonging to one Ojo Olootu
The offence, he said, contravened Sections 516, 383 and 390 of the Criminal Code Cap Vol 11 Laws of Osun State, 2003.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.

The defence counsel, Najite Okobie, prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.
The trial judge, Mrs A. O. Ajanaku granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
According to the judge, the surety, who must be a blood relation of the defendant, must also provide an affidavit of means.
The case was adjourned till June 16 for hearing.
