As part of the efforts to boost the Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) of Plateau State and to reposition its economy, Governor Simon Lalong has mapped out strategy towards this effect with the projection to rake in about N500 million from the activities of the Ministry of Land and Survey as from next year.
The State Commissioner of Land and Survey Hon. Yakubu Dati who disclosed this during the presentation of Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) to the beneficiaries on Thursday said the governor is restoring confidence and guaranteeing access to land titles for its citizens.
Hon. Dati said the Governor is fast-tracking the Ease-of-doing-business, following his commitment to providing layouts for Agriculture, Tourism Mining and industries adding that the Ministry of Land and Survey will leverage on the technology at its disposal couple with training and human capacity development and enlightenment of the general public to attain the target.

” Our projection is to be able to improve the revenue of the state to about N500 million as from next year from where we are now, which is currently at about N120 million. To achieve this, we will leverage on the technology we have and also work on the training and human capacity development couple with the enlightenment of the general public” he said.
He added that virtually all the operations of the Ministry will be digitalized and be ICT compliance to make the operations easy for all adding that the operations have moved from manual to automated.
Dati said the Ministry has keyed into the Plateau State Development plan and had embarked on reorientation and human capital development which is gradually eradicating past sharp practices, unnecessary bottlenecks, and effective and efficient land documentation through the application of technology.
According to Dati, a total of 238 Cof OS and 815 Rof O have so far been processed this year adding that the government has simplified land documentation technology in the PLAGIS, whereby applicants will do their documentation within 21 days.
He urged members of the public and organisations to ensure they’re up to date with their payments as the Ministry will soon embark prosecute defaulters.
The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of land titles to the beneficiaries.
