Fans at the Naija Super 8 final, which held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, last Sunday, were treated to topnotch musical entertainment by afrobeats superstar trio of Pheelz Mr Producer, Portable and Seyi Vibez.
Their performances added fanfare to a thrilling football contest between Remo Stars and Sporting Lagos, a match which ended 4-2 on penalty shootouts in favour of Sporting Lagos after both teams played a 1-1 draw in full time.
Seyi Vibez excited the fans at halftime with energetic renditions of some of his hit songs such as ‘+234’, ‘Chance’, ‘Hushpuppi’ and ‘Gwagwalada’.
Zazoo Zehh crooner, Portable made a return appearance to the pitch, after he stole the limelight at the opening match of the tournament on Friday July 7. He rode on the full time excitement of the fans to deliver a memorable performance.
The night ended on a perfect note for fans who stayed back to watch the trophy presentation as Pheelz Mr Producer serenaded the champions and spectators with his hit songs ‘Finesse’ and ‘Shake it’.
Speaking after the trophy presentation, the Chief Executive Officer of Flykite Productions, Mr Jenkins Alumona, noted that exciting musical performances by top artistes contributed to a wholesome stadium experience for fans throughout the tournament.
“The Naija Super 8 tournament was conceived to bring fans back into the stadium and give them a premium sporting and entertainment experience. We are glad to have achieved that across the nine matchdays.
“We had musical performances from top afrobeats artistes namely Portable, Bella Shmurda, 9ice, Lil Kesh, Daddy Showkey, Peruzzi, Crayon as well as two internationally recognised disc jockeys, DJ Exclusive and DJ Casper Sandra.
“Today crowned all of the excitement that have been built since the tournament commenced and we are delighted to have given the fans an experience they would not forget easily and we hope to host them again next year,” he added.
