AHEAD of the 2019 gubernatorial elections, North-East Zonal secretariat of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commenced screening of all its aspirants in Bauchi.
The exercise as at the time of this report was being held in Bauchi which is the zonal headquarters of the party with all the aspirants from the six states of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe appearing before the screening committee headed by Barr. John Mathew Abinku to be screened.
Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku who is seeking re-election for a second term is leading the pack among the aspirants to be screened by the committee.

Others to be screened are the immediate former FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed; former Deputy Senate leader, Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Reps now a Senator from Gombe state, Bayero Usman Nafada, Senator Adamu Ibrahim Gumba.
As at the time of this report, Governor Dairus Ishaku was yet to arrive the venue despite the fact that as an incumbent Governor, he is expected to be screened first.
