Donating the materials, deputy national chairman of the party, Elder Yemi Akinwomi who represented the national chairman of the party, Uche Secondus said that the party deem it fit to identify with people of the state over the loss.
Akinwomi said the party commiserated with Benue people over the recent killing of over 73 persons adding that it was on the basis of that, the party came to give their little contribution to cushion the effect of the displaced persons.
“PDP sympathize with innocent children and our mothers who were brutally killed for a problem they know nothing about. The party sues for peace and unity of the country.”Secondus said.
Amongst items donated include, food items like bags of beans, rice and maize, mattresses, blankets, buckets and wrappers with millions of naira.
Governor Samuel Ortom who was represented by his Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General Barr. Michael Gusa, appreciated the party leadership for the gesture, noting that it has demonstrated true brotherliness in spite party affiliation.
He assured that the relief materials would be judiciously distributed to the displaced persons.
