The Nigeria High Commission in London, has urged its citizens residing in the United Kingdom not to patronise touts and unofficial agents when seeking issuance and renewal of the Nigerian passport.
The Commission in a statement obtained by the Tribune Online said the Commission under Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Ishola, is poised to restore the Mission’s credibility through the process of offering quality service.
The Mission noted the incessant allegations of corruption and other negative reports on the issuance of the Nigerian passport in London, and had been able to identify and break the gang of passport racketeers in London.
It submitted that no fewer than 18 innocent Nigerians had been scammed by the racketeers to pay between £300 and £350 in their desire to acquire or renew their Nigerian passports.

The Mission said it would adopt extra vigilance to discover and eliminate corrupt actions associated with passport application and processing within the system, in line with the zero tolerance of TBD President Muhammadu Buhari administration as clearly spelt out in the Mission’s Charter.
