United States-based urban planner, Mr Adeniyi Agbaje, has attributed much of the development taking place in rural and inner communities in the country to the paradigm shift inherent in the real estate sector.
He noted that the shift in urban development has seen the growing changes in the hinterlands merge with development in the cities, unlike before when the cities only expanded to meet the hinterlands in terms of development.
Agbaje stated this on Friday during the handover of his 3-bedroom fully detached bungalow and documents at the Pelican Ecostay Apartments, Kobape, to him by the Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited.
He described Pelican Valley as a stimulus that would drag fast-paced development to the Kobape corridor of Ogun State through its flagship Ecostay Apartments project within Pelican’s Brief Estate.
He commended the firm for going the extra mile to make the Ecostay Apartments a serene environment where nature meets luxury.
Agbaje revealed that the shift is currently being experienced in the Lekki axis of Lagos and Abuja, where places outside the FCT are treated as Abuja, adding that the “Kobape corridor will soon shelve its inner-town status.”
“If you are futuristic, you will invest in Ecostay Apartments today. Sango-Otta is like Lagos now. If you had told somebody years ago to buy land at the Sango/Agbado axis, the person would not have. But if you were futuristic and had bought it at that time, you will see the differences now.
“Aside from doing an investment here for the future, I see someone with the vision that makes sense.
“It is not all about starting from the city to the inner anymore, they even go from the inner to join the city now, so this is a good idea, I’m an urban planner with decades of experience and I could visualise some things, it is just a matter of time.
Another subscriber, Julius Adekola, who coincidentally paid an unscheduled visit to the estate, disclosed that he had to undertake a discrete investigation through the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Development and Urban Planning to ascertain the genuineness of the real estate firm.
He added that after getting testimonials attesting to the firm’s tradition of integrity and honesty, he decided to visit the site to see things for himself.
In his response, the CEO of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, Dr Babatunde Adeyemo, congratulated the duo, disclosing that, barring any unforeseen circumstances, the firm will also commission another set of 10 apartments in the next six months.
