THE Sports Writers Assocaition of Nigeria (SWAN), Oyo State chapter, has congratulated the newly-appointed commissioner for Youth and Sports in the state, Barrister Abayomi Oke.
Congratulating Oke on behalf of other members, Chairman of the association, Mr Niyi Alebiosu, noted that Oke is assuming duty at a time when sports in Oyo State need rejig and urge him to put in his best to bring the state back to where it belongs in the world of sport.
Alebiosu, who commended the governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, for putting the youngest of the newly-sworn-in commissioners in charge of the ministry of Youth and Sports, Pledged the support of sports journalists in the state for the ministry under Oke’s watch, while calling on the state governor to give the new commissioner adequate support in order to take Oyo State sports to enviable heights.
