Over 500 participants attend 2024 Tech Excellence at Ondo varsity

Over 500 participants were in attendance at this year’s Tech Excellence 1.0 held at Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo Town, Ondo State on April 18, 2024.

The program which was a joint effort by The Association for Students’ Social Welfare in Nigeria (ASSSN) and Spent Academy featured important figures in the Nigerian tech space.

The event was aimed at providing a platform for tertiary institution students and young people to engage with cutting-edge technology, industry experts, and thought leaders. With a focus on fostering creativity, innovation, and networking opportunities in the tech industry.

The programme featured keynote speeches, insightful panel discussions, interactive workshops, a raffle draw, and exciting hackathon competitions. The engaging format attracted a diverse audience, fostering connections and collaboration among students, professionals, and industry leaders.

Some of the speakers at the event include the speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olamide Oladiji who was represented by Akintayo Akinjolie, a special assistant to the speaker. Other speakers were Mr. Ogunranti Bayo, Mr. Spirit Philip, Mr. Dickson Orisamuyiwa, Ms. Blessing Oladele, and Hon. Simeon Toluwani Borokini, a senior legislative aide to the Senate president.

During the panel session, issues bordering on Tech were discussed. Some of the discussants were Dr. Muyiwa Oluwatobi, Bukola Aladesulu, Biodun Bamigboye, and Oluwatobi Bayo David amongst others.

Speaking with newsmen after the program, one of the organizers, Mr. Victor Adetolaju promised to make Tech Excellence a yearly event whereby people in the same ecosystem will meet, and foster a vibrant atmosphere of learning and connection.
