Over 2,000 members of the All Progressives Congress Progressives Movement have resolved to put aside their differences and forge a common front in order to wrest power from the Peoples Democratic Party led government in the state in 2027.

The group has as its members, the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Alhaji Bello Oladeji popularly known as BAO, Hon. Laide Akinremi, Chief Fatai Ibikunle, Pa Ajikobi, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, Chief Francis Babaloja, Barr. Lowo Obisesan, Sen. Yunus Akinrinde, Hon. Dapo Lam-Adesina, Pa Laoye and host of others.

The Chairman of the Movement and Chieftain of the party, Alhaji Bello Oladeji urged the members to remain united in their quest to rebuild the party in order for it to reclaim its lost glory in the state

According to him, “APC is for progressively minded politicians not charlatans. That is why people of like minds have come together in line with the vision of the likes of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Chief Bisi Akande to rebuild the party.

“We have learnt from the past mistakes. We will not want the history of 2023 wobbling and fumbling to repeat itself in 2027.

“We have all that it takes to wrest power from the PDP in 2027. What is required of us is commitment.

“Let us put behind us the happenings of the past. Let us take the campaign to our various wards. The process of rebuilding should not be left in the hands of the leaders. We are all stakeholders.

We should ensure that all aggrieved members that have decamped to the other parties are brought back into the fold.

I am happy that those that left the party in the wake of the 2023 general elections have returned to the party. We are still expecting others to follow suit”

Speaking in the same vein, a Chieftain of the party and former Commissioner for Environment, Barr. Lowo Obisesan stressed for unity and commitment among the members in order for the party to reclaim its lost glory.

He also drummed support for President Bola Tinubu led administration, submitting that Oyo state is dear to his heart

According to him, Tinubu is not happy with the division among the members of the party despite his love for the state.

The only way for us to warm ourselves into his heart is through our commitment to the growth of the party right from the wards to the federal level.
