THE Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki is currently holding meeting with the flag bearer of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in the last Saturday governorship poll in Osun, Senator Iyiola Omisore with a view to secure his support ahead this week’s Thursday rerun election, which would be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This is coming against the declaration of the poll inconclusive by the electoral umpire on Sunday after the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ademola Adeleke polled polled 254, 698 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr Gboyega Isiaka Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 254, 345 votes.
TribuneOnline authoritatively gathered that the resolve of Saraki to parley Omisore was informed by the spirited moves of the PDP to galvanise support for Adeleke in Ife South and Ife North local governments, where the rerun exercise would be held on Thursday.

nice one saraki , i knew u sabi the game well well .
Since yesterday many people have been calling me for my views on the Osun election. Some literally wanted to gloat that “they told me so”. One, I am not an APC member. Two, the election is not over, so they need to chill. I will always stand by the truth no matter what. Orun ya bo ni ki se oro enikan.
We all say America is great, America is great. But did we ever ask why America is great? About 60 years ago, Americans were told not to ask what America would do for them but what they are willing to do for America. There in lies the greatness of the US. In Nigeria, we want to be great but none is willing to pay the price of greatness. Yes it is true that Aregbe made some blunders. He owes a backlog of salaries and life must have been very difficult for the civil servants and their families. But we shouldn’t stop here. We should ask why he owes salaries. Is it because he innocently miscalculated or because he embezzled the money? I boldly state here that no governor, if we factor in the available resources, performed as well as Aregbe in the last four years. He started a lot of projects at the same time and suddenly the federal allocation to the state was cut by more than half due to the crash in the price of crude oil. Maybe his economic team didn’t do enough. They could have seen this coming. The easiest thing is for him to have cut the state’s workforce by more than half. Many believe that will amount to political suicide. So he did the next best thing, pay the money in bits.
I understand people must have suffered. It must have been tough no doubt. But no country grows with the sacrifices of her people. That SHOULD be the contribution of the Osun civil servants. America is great because of her infrastructures and institutions. No country can become great without these. Nigeria has none of these. Aregbe tried to put Osun state on the map with great road network, modern schools and amenities. These will last a long time. But our people want to get rid of him and his legacies because he owes them. So they voted for the highest bidder. They sold their children’s future for crumbs. They want a governor who pays salary and nothing more. O ma se o.
If anyone was hit economically by all that had happened in the last four years in Nigeria , I have been. My real estate business was badly hit as I struggled to find buyers. I was forced to diversify into other businesses. The devaluation of our currency has dealt me a terrible blow. But I will be a fool if I hold PMB responsible. We couldn’t have lived recklessly for 16 years and avoid the consequences. We all have to pay the price. The earlier the better. We are going through a very difficult time right now but we are on the right path. It is slow and painful, but this pain won’t be forever.
If Osun people in their wisdom prefers a secondary school failure whose best result is F9 in English language, whose only qualification is his surname and Shaku Shaku, then I can only wish them well. As for me, I have given up on Nigeria and her people.(c)
Was Omisore not in the PDP from the beginning? He has used the SDP to gain favour and without doubt, he will trade the party for personal gains so, it was expected.

You can’t compare an entrepreneur with a common man, see a good governor can and would invest 1b that can yield to 20b if you doubt then I doubt you are an entrepreneur, therefore non payment of salary is very bad and any citizen that accepts it is very wicked and inconsiderate
Mr Mark Alvateria Snyder pls read my post I never said salary should not be paid
