Osun Perm Sec kidnapped, hacked to death along Abuja road
Osun State Permanent Secretary, Mrs Ajibade Oluwakemi Kolawole, who was killed by unknown assailants on her way to Abuja.
Tragedy struck in the early hours of Thursday when suspected hoodlums allegedly kidnapped and subsequently hacked to death an Osun State Permanent Secretary, Mrs Ajibade Oluwakemi Kolawole on her way to Abuja.
Though, details of the killings could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report, Tribune Online authoritatively gathered that the top civil servant, who was the PS General Service, Office of the Governor, was waylaid by her assailants on her official trip to Abuja.
A top civil servant, who pleaded anonymity informed that Kolawole, who was in her official car being driven by the driver was also in company of another occupant inside the vehicle when the incident occurred.
A source, who is close to Kolawole’s  family, who craved anonymity confided said that the deceased PS and her driver were on their way to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to attend the inauguration of the the PS, Ministry of Justice, Mrs Abiola Adewemimo as one of the the judges of Industrial Court.
According to the source, “this is a terrible and tragic moment for her family. Mrs Kolawole, who hailed from Modakeke was only showing solidarity with her fellow PS of the Ministry of Justice, who is to sworn in today (Thursday) as one of the 19 judges appointed to work as justices in adjudicating in industrial matters at the National Industrial Court, Abuja.”
Some of the civil servants, close to Kolawole at the Bola Ige House, Office of the Governor, Abere, described her as an amiable and compassionate woman, saying her death was painful and great loss to Osun State.
Confirming the incident, Osun State Head of Service (HoS), Mr Sunday Owoeye, said “it is true that the PS General Service, Office of the Governor, Mrs Kolawole, was killed by unknown persons on her way to Abuja on official trip on Thursday.“
He stated that, he was waylaid and her attackers beat the driver to a coma and abducted her. The matter was reported to the police and later the search team assembled by the police to locate her and rescue her from the assailants found her body beside the road about four hours after being kidnapped. She was matcheted severely and already dead when they found her.”
