Meanwhile, there was mild drama in Ile-Ife when some armed soldiers stopped the former deputy governor Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore at Lagere area while he was heading towards his polling unit at Moore to vote.
Tribune Online authoritatively gathered that he was delayed for almost two hours in his Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) marked FG 295 ZP before the intervention of a senior military officer, who ordered that he should be allowed to proceed to his destination.
Reacting over the development in text message forwarded to Tribune Online, Omisore stated that “I wasn’t in any convoy. Just my vehicle only. I was going to vote, but a soldier, a captain who couldn’t use his discretion reasonably. Later, I went to vote after common sense prevailed.
After leaving the scene, Omisore was later cast his vote at Ward 1 More, Unit 3 around 12:07 pm, where after results were released, APC polled 517 and PDP polled 12.
