Osun 2026: APC campaign council holds inaugural meeting

Published by

Ahead of the Osun State governorship election, the 292-member All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council, inaugurated last week by the party’s National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, met on Monday in Abuja.

Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Campaign Council, Senator Hope Uzodinma, presided over the meeting held at the Kano State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.

Addressing members before the meeting went into a closed-door session, the Imo State governor appealed to them to demonstrate commitment, stating that the objective was to develop strategies and offer ideas that would help the APC win the August 15 election.

He said, “The plan is to go and support our brothers and sisters in Osun State to win the forthcoming election. This meeting is not for merrymaking. It is not for any jamboree.

“It is for people to come and offer service. As you must have known, all of us here belong to one subcommittee or another.

“To officially mandate all the subcommittees to meet as soon as possible, between now and Thursday, and bring up ideas and services they think they can render to ensure that our task is made easier.

“And what is our task? To win the governorship election in Osun State. Any other matter will be left until after the election. However, the most important thing is to focus on what will enable us to win the election properly.

“I therefore urge the chairmen of all the subcommittees to submit all their resolutions and proposals to the National Secretary of this committee, including areas where they believe the Central Working Committee can support them in actualising their mission.

“We have only one mission: to win the election. Everything else can come after the election.”
