The lawmaker representing Abeokuta North/ Obafemi Owode/Odeda Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives member, Hon Olumide Osoba, has donated palliatives to artisans, members of the Nigeria Automobile Technicians Association (NATA) and different ethnic nationalities in his constituency.
The nationalities who benefited from the programme were drawn from Arewa, Ndigbo, Igede communities.
The items distributed were part of the palliatives extended to Nigerians by the Federal Government to mitigate the effects of the removal of petrol subsidy and resultant increase in food prices.
Represented by Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Abdulsalam Ayorinde, during the handing over ceremony, the lawmaker urged the representatives of the groups to ensure the palliatives get across to the right beneficiaries.
He said: “This noble gesture aligns with the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of Mr President, Bola Tinubu, which aims to instill hope for a better future for all Nigerians.
“The initiative was an integral part of the Federal Government’s approach to mitigate the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy which unfortunately has resulted in increased food prices.”
