Oshiomhole’s ex-aide, two others docked, remanded in prison custody over assault, viral sex video

FOR allegedly stripping a 24-year-old commercial sex worker naked and inserting hot pepper into her vagina, Mr Lucky Igbinovia, a former aide to Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was yesterday remanded in prison custody.

Two other suspects, Mr Joel Otoghile and Kingsley Iyamu were also remanded along with Igbinovia, a top APC member popularly called One Man Squad by Justice Joseph Acha of the Benin High Court Criminal Division till March 6 to decide on their final bail application.

In charge no.117/2019, the prosecution counsel, Mr Peter Ugwumba reeled out 14 count charges against the accused who pleaded not guilty.

Ugwumba also accused the trio of attempted murder, kidnapping, injury, trial by ordeal, false accusation, extortion, recording the act and transmitting it into video film which has since gone viral on the internet, amongst other allegations.

The young girl, Miss Favour Ada, 24 from Rivers state who was allegedly accused of stealing a mobile phone told journalists yesterday at the state police headquarters in Benin that her worst moment was when they inserted pepper into her private part, striped her naked and videoed her.

She lamented: “What pained me most was when they naked me, videoed me and put pepper into my private part.”

I Favour was said to have stolen an iPhone ‘X’ Mas phone worth N440,000 at a hotel located at suburban Ugbiyoko, Benin which led to her being striped naked, beaten up and some pepper inserted into her private part at Igbinovia’s residence last week.

Narrating her ordeals in the hands of her assaulters, she said she was taken to a native doctor who mysteriously implanted bullets into her stomach and later threatened her with a live snake adding that in order not to die, she admitted to the crime and the bullets were later removed from her stomach.

She said when she saw that she was freed from the hand of the native doctor, she told her accusers that she did not steal their phone and that she only admitted to the crime because of fear.

She said when she maintained her innocence, they stripped her naked, inserted pepper into her private part and severely beat her up.

The Edockeddo State Acting Commissioner of Police, Mr Hakeem Odumosu disclosed that the police arrested five persons in connection with the violent assault.
