Contrary to reports doing the rounds that veteran actress, Rachel Oniga died of COVID-19 complications, a sister of the deceased has denied the report, saying the actress died of heart related ailment.
Tribune Online gathered that Oniga who died at the age of 64 in a Lagos hospital on Friday night has been battling with the ailment for some time as she had been in and out of the hospital.
A statement from the deceased’s sister, deaconess Toyin Odusote revealed that contrary to reports flying around that the actress died of COVID-19 complications, her sister died of heart related issue, which she claimed Oniga battled with for a short period of time.
“We accept her sudden transition as God’s design and see it as a function of a race of life well finished. Painful as it may be, we accept it in good faith and total submission to her maker.
They urged that lovers and fans of the actress shoul allow them.mourn privately as we do this with “deep sense of respect for her soul and the glorious life she lived.”
The family said burial arrangements for the deceased would be announced in due course.
