The Ondo State police command has declared the policeman who allegedly killed a truck driver on Monday in Uso town in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, wanted.
The policeman, identified as Sergeant Idowu Omosuyi, was yet to be arrested as he was said to have fled the scene of the incident immediately he committed the crime.
Omosuyi, who was attached to the Federal Highway Patrol, was said to have allegedly shot the truck driver, Ado Saleh, at a checkpoint on Akure-Owo expressway in Uso town, killing him instantly, before taking to his heels.
It was gathered that the policeman shot the driver following an argument between both of them on a fateful day.
Residents of the community protested over the killing, blocking the expressway for several hours, calling for the arrest of the policeman.
However, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Femi Joseph, said detectives were already on the trail of the policeman.

Joseph disclosed that five other members of the team had been arrested and were in detention, while an investigation into the incident was still ongoing.
Joseph said: “We are yet to arrest him (Omosuyi) but the other members of the team have been arrested and are currently in detention.
“It was during our preliminary investigation that the members of the team told us that Omosuyi dropped his gun immediately after killing the driver and ran away.
“But we are after him, he cannot escape. The command has begun the trial of all members of the team.”
A police source, however, disclosed that the body of the driver had been taken to his state in Adamawa, where he was buried.
