Omotola hits another high!

Popular actress and moviemaker, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has been making the headlines for the right reasons since the beginning of the year.

From her 40th birthday bash that shook the entertainment industry to its roots in February, to the signing mouth-watering deals that made her the envy of many, the actress has proven to be in a class of her own.

She seems to understand when to make the headlines and recoils to her shell to strategise on some of her humanitarian projects, one of which has earned her high-profile awards.

At the just-concluded 73rd UN General Assembly, Omotola, who has appeared in more than 300 movies was honoured as one of the most influential 100 people of African descent.

The recognition came on the heels of her recognition by Times Magazine as one of 100 most influential people in the world alongside a former First Lady of the United States (US) Michelle Obama.

It will be recalled that Omotola, in 2014 was honoured with the member of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (MFR) by the Nigerian government for her contributions to Nigerian cinema.

Elated Omotola, who shared the big news with her fans on Friday said she was happy to have been honoured at the opening of the 73rd UN General Assembly.

According to her, “Honoured to be one of the Most Influential 100 People of African Descent at the United Nations by @mipad100“.

The message opened a flood gate of congratulatory messages on her page as friends, fans and colleagues eulogised her for making the country and Africa proud.

Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) award distinguishes excellence in people of African descent from over 50 countries worldwide in support of the United Nations International Decade for People of African Descent (IDPAD) 2015 – 2024.
