Wife of the Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, Tamunominini Makinde has started her mission on a good note with a considerable gesture towards the needs of the underprivileged as she displayed a rare act of love on Independence Day by celebrating Nigeria’s 59th anniversary with children of the underprivileged.
The independence celebration was marked with the distribution of gift items to 27 orphanages and special homes across Oyo State to commemorate the independence celebration specially organised for over 155 children in her Agodi, Ibadan office.

The Governor’s wife had earlier visited some orphanages to identify their challenges and in her speech, she revealed how the children are special to her as she promised to do her best in helping them fulfil their destinies.
The event was lined with activities like dancing, games, singing where the Oyo First Lady participated in it all.
Also present at the Independence Day celebration were the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Alhaji Faosat Sanni, the Head of Service, Alhaja Ololade Agboola and other prominent women in the State.
Cash gifts, essential drugs, writing materials, food items, diapers and detergents were distributed to the orphanages and special homes.
