Oluremi Tinubu’s RHI has transformed millions of lives – Otti

Abia State’s first lady, Priscilla Chidinma Otti has said Oluremi Tinubu’s project, Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI has transformed millions of lives in the country.

She stated this in Umuahia during the launch and distribution of free exercise books to pupils and students as one of the interventions of the Nigeria first lady in education sector in the state.

Otti said, “As the mother of our dear nation, she (Sen. Oluremi Tinubu) is passionate about the empowerment of women, girls, and children, including pupils and students of our prestigious institutions of learning.

“Today we launch in Abia State the RHI distribution of free exercise books to pupils and students in partnership with my office, and in collaboration with the Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) and the Abia State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education—this event underscores our commitment to providing quality basic education to all our children.

“Education is crucial and remains the backbone of a nation’s development, prosperity, and growth. Investing in education is essential for building a prosperous, equitable, and harmonious society.

“It fosters innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship, driving economic progress.

“We will keep championing strategic initiatives that enhance the development of our children.

“Recognizing the critical role education plays in human capital development, in partnership with RHI, we have provided over 110,000 exercise books to enhance learning outcomes and support the academic journey of our pupils and students, especially at the Basic level.

She continued, “We are not just teaching them how to farm; we are also nurturing a generation that will transform our agricultural landscape, adopt modern farming techniques, and ensure that Nigeria remains self-sufficient in food production.

“In Abia, we have adopted this strategy: Agriculture is a Human Capital Development indicator in our state.”

She encouraged the students to embrace every opportunity with a deep sense of responsibility, adding, “We are deeply committed to securing a future where you all can thrive.

“The exercise books we are distributing today will play a vital role in your academic journey.

“We are committed to ensuring that every pupil receives at least six (6) exercise books”, she said and emphasized that basic education in Abia State is now free and compulsory for every child and is fully funded by Abia State Government.

She added, “it is now a crime in Abia State for a child to be seen hawking during school hours. We will enforce this law strictly to protect the rights of our children and ensure they remain in school.”
