THE Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Abia State chapter, has urged the Federal Government to address the high cost of domestic products in Igbo land as well as other parts of the country so as to alleviate the suffering of the masses.
Rising from its monthly meeting held at Abia Hotel in Umuahia at the weekend, the state president of the pan-Igbo group, Elder Justice Roland Ajuzieogu, told newsmen they were worried over the rising cost of commodities in the country.
Elder Ajuzieogu noted that domestic goods such as kerosene, cooking gas, rice, beans, palm oil, provisions among other stable foods and products were not within the reach of the ordinary man in the street.
The apex umbrella of Igbo socio-cultural association also appealed to the authorities to stop the constant use of force on Igbo activists, pointing out that the youths in Igbo land did not carry arms.
The Igbo leaders also lauded Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State for his doggedness in rehabilitating various roads across the three geopolitical zones of the state.
