Odumosu Foundation holds solidarity walk, promotes unity in Ijebu-Ode community

Published by

Residents of Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State came together in a show of unity and community spirit as the Asiwaju Odumosu Foundation organised a peaceful solidarity walk, on Saturday, in support of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The procession drew youths, women, traders and community members who filled major streets with songs, banners and chants, creating a lively but orderly atmosphere.

The walk began at Italapo, moved through Folagbade and ended at Grammar School, Ijebu-Ode, attracting attention from residents who lined the roads to cheer participants.

Many residents described the event as more than a political show of support, noting that it also strengthened social bonds among community members. Participants said the gathering provided an opportunity for neighbours and local groups to interact, celebrate shared values and express hope for continued development in the area.

Speaking, founder of the foundation, Oladapo Odumosu, said the initiative was designed to encourage unity among residents while reaffirming support for policies aimed at improving the welfare of citizens.

He noted that peaceful civic engagement remained an important way for communities to express their views and contribute to democratic growth.

Odumosu commended the people of Ijebu-Ode for their peaceful conduct throughout the exercise and praised security personnel for ensuring safety on the route.

Community members, who participated in the walk, highlighted ongoing infrastructural and social programmes in the state, expressing optimism that continued collaboration between leaders and citizens will bring more development to local communities.

Traders and youths noted that such gatherings also provided opportunities to promote local businesses and strengthen neighbourhood relationships.

Participants were urged to support initiatives that promote peace, development and collective progress within their communities.

In a related development, Odumosu announced his intention to represent Ijebu Central federal constituency, pledging to prioritise grassroots development and community-focused programmes if elected.
