From all indications, historical sites and locations would soon be used to promote the entertainment industry as well as domestic tourism in the South-West and the country at large following the collaboration of a private tourism organisation, Tourism Promotion Frontier Initiatives (TPFI) with the Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation
This plan was mooted when TPFI, with the support of the management of a popular entertainment centre in the heart of Ibadan, Options 24/7, hosted the official of the NTDC during its familiarisation tour of the body to Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to the president of TPFI, Prince Ganiyu Adebiyi, Nigeria’s potential should be projected to the outside world.
“Our association is poised for the promotion of intra, domestic tourism and to promote every aspect of tourism in Nigeria as well as bring new ideas into the industry. We have capacity and a pedigree to promote Nigeria to the outside world,” he stated.
In his response, the South-West zonal chairman of the NTDC, Mr Rotimi Ayetan, stressed that sustainable tourism has come to stay in Nigeria and that all stakeholders have a role to play, just as he commended the efforts of TPFIto take tourism to a greater height in the country through its initiatives.
