Speaking on behalf of the Governing Council of the NRCS Sokoto Branch, the Disaster Management Adviser, Malam Abdul Nasir Muhammad Saleh, said the intervention reflected the organisation’s commitment to assisting vulnerable communities.

Saleh said, “The Nigerian Red Cross Society remains committed to supporting vulnerable and displaced communities. Continued humanitarian assistance, protection and collaboration with partners are essential to addressing the needs of affected families and strengthening their resilience.”

He also expressed appreciation to the ICRC and other partners for their support, saying coordinated humanitarian interventions were necessary to alleviate the difficulties faced by displaced families.

The stakeholders commended the initiative, describing the assistance as timely and responsive to the immediate needs of the beneficiaries.

The NRCS said the intervention was not only aimed at providing material assistance but also at preserving the dignity, safety and wellbeing of children and families affected by displacement.

The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to working with the ICRC, government agencies and other humanitarian partners to strengthen protection and humanitarian services for vulnerable populations in Sokoto State.
