Nigeria’s President, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been commended for his tremendous effort, dedication, and commitment to fixing Nigeria within a short period of time.
The commendation was made by the North East Youths Discussion Cycle in a statement signed by the Chairman of the group, Prince Mohammed Sani Hassan, copies of which were made available to Journalists in Bauchi.
The group stated, “We are very sure he will move Nigeria to the next level of development without rancour or discrimination.”
The statement further contained, “Considering the fact that we from the Youths Constituency have done so much to contribute to the emergence of His Excellency, Mr President, at the 2023 elections, We are requesting that Mr President consider one of our own from the Youths Constituency, Comrade Mahmud Muhammad, National Coordinator, Tinubu/Shettima Media Support from Borno State as Minister of Youths
It stressed that considering his Commitments and dedication to APC before the Campaign, during, and after the elections, he has done so much well across the country and can be seen by all and sundry across the length and breadth of the country.”
“Your Excellency, Sir, on behalf of the entire youth that contributed so much before and after your emergence as our President and will also contribute our best towards the unity, success, and progress of our dear country, Nigeria, we forward our request to your esteem office,” It further wrote.
The group then stated that Mahmud Muhammad was born in the early 90s; he attended his primary school at Mafoni Primary School, in Maiduguri, and his SSCE at Mafoni Secondary School, Maiduguri.
He later proceeded to Mohammed Goni College of Legal and Islamic Studies (2009), where he obtained his Diploma in Computer Appreciation, and to the University of Maiduguri (2009–2012), where he obtained his Diploma in Biology Education and a Degree (BSc) in Environmental Biology (2012–2015).
He also bagged his Master’s Degree in Disaster Risk Management and Developmental Studies at the same University of Maiduguri and later obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Administration, all at the University of Maiduguri, as well as a Master’s Degree in Information and Communication Technology and an Advanced Diploma in Human Resources, Strategic Operations, MIS, and Networking, all under Joint Professional Training Studies, South American University, USA.
He was also a one-time Special Assistant on State and National Welfare Programmes and Social Media Aide to the erstwhile Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Kashim Shettima, during his service as a Governor of Borno State, and is currently the ICT Coordinator of Borno State University (BOSU) and the National Coordinator for Tinubu/Shettima Media Support.
Mahmud Muhammad was a Member of the Technical Working Group of the Presidential Committee on Repatriation of Nigerian Refugees Living in Cameroon as well as a Committee Member of the first Lake Chad Basin Governors Conference (LCBGF) that was held in Maiduguri.
He is a Governing Council Member of BOSU, Head of ICT at BOSU, Senior Assistant Registrar, and also a member of several Committees in the university, which include the Tetfund Committee, the Member ICT Development Committee, the Security Advisory Council, the Member Information Security and Protocol Committee, the In-house Due Process Committee, the Member Admissions Committee, the Member Ad-Hoc Committee of Accreditation, the Member Library Development Committee, and the Member Orientation Committee, among others.
Mahmud Muhammad is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science (FDMSS), a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Disaster Management, USA (FCIDSM), a Member of the Institute of Information Management (MIIM), a Member of the Nigerian Environmental Society (MNES), and a Member of the Association of Disaster Managers without Borders.
Mahmud Muhammad is a committed, skilled, and experienced public servant with a broad knowledge of ICT, the environment, and Disaster Risk management.
He is a very intelligent and outspoken politician, with extremely high self-esteem and confidence. He is generally viewed as an influential youth leader for the leaders of tomorrow.
He was also a Member of the 2023 Presidential Campaign Council under the North-East Support Group Coordination Committee and bagged many certificates from trainings, conferences, and workshops within and outside the country.
