Normalcy has returned to the National Assembly in Abuja after the Tuesday’s bloody clash between the members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) the personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.
This is coming as the security has been beefed up in and around Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as the Nigeria Police Force stepped up patrolling of the metropolises and physical presence of personnel at strategic places
A very senior police officer sighted at a location around the Central Area District, Abuja, coordinating the personnel told Tribune Online in confidence that the action became necessary as directed by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Abubakar Adamu so as to prevent the repeat of the Tuesday’s incident.

At the National Assembly Complex, Tribune Online observed that normal life activities have fully resumed with was a free flow of vehicular and human traffics.
However, visitors and staff members without valid identification were politely turned back by stern-looking armed Mobile Police Force (MPF), popularly known as “Anti- Riot Police” officers who were drafted to the Complex on Tuesday.
In the melee, two Shiites were reportedly killed, One policeman killed while four were wounded and several cars were vandalized in the violence that marred the protest.
The police had earlier claimed that the protesters attempted to invade the legislative chambers of the National Assembly complex by scaling the fence.
The FCT Command of the Nigerian Police had disclosed on Tuesday that 40 Shiites members were arrested in the ensuing melee.
Abdullahi Musa, spokesperson for the Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) had told newsmen on Tuesday that the police disrupted the rally by hiring thugs to join the protesters
