THE peaceful co-existence among non-indigene residents in Oyo State was recently boosted in Ibadan with the formation of Non-Indigenes Traditional Council.
The council, led by Dr Alex Anozie, the Eze Ndigbo Nala of Ibadan and Oyo State, comprises the traditional heads of non-indigene ethnic groups in the state who have found the need to come together to seek peace and unity among their subjects and the host community.
During a recent parley of heads of the traditional council, Dr Anozie noted that the main objectives of the council is to join hands in maintaining peace and unity among the different non-indigenes groups and indigenes of the state.
Dr Anozie, therefore, appealed to the state and Federal Government to create an enabling environment for peace to reign in the state.
The council, as part of its activities, also paid an advocacy visit to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji at his palace.
