Nollywood actor, Junior Pope, three others die in boat accident

Popular Nollywood actor, Junior Pope, alongside three other actors have passed away after their boat capsized in the Anam River in Anambra state while returning from movie locations.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday, hours after Junior Pope shared a video of himself on a boat praying to arrive at his destination safely.

In the video, the actor, who was fretting, explained the difficulties actors go through just to satisfy their fans.

He wrote, “See me lamenting… The risks we take to entertain you; crossing river 9ja yesterday with no life jacket… Na wah oooo… Who does that?”

Confirming the deaths in an Instagram post, popular filmmaker, Samuel Olatunji wrote, “Four actors, including Jnr Pope, fell into the Anam River on their way to a location, and their bodies have been recovered. What a sad day for Nollywood. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.”

The bodies of the late actor alongside other victims of the incident have since been recovered.

The late Junior Pope is survived by a wife and three children.
