It was a night rich in glitz and glamour as individuals and brands in the nation’s creative and advertising space lined up for recognitions at this year’s edition of the Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival (LAIF), held recently in Lagos.
Organised by the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), the event, featuring individuals from different sectors of the nation’s economy, especially advertising and entertainment, was designed to recognise creative excellence, improve the quality of creative craft, and promote the spirit of healthy competition, among individuals and brands, using global best practices.
The President, AAAN, Larne Adisa, expressed the delight that the festival had grown into a symbol of excellence, a platform, showcasing the resilience of the industry.
“It has become an avenue for developing talents in Nigeria, setting the stage for global ideas, and showcasing the importance of reflection, and the new world. LAIF has come of age, and with maturity comes responsibility,” he added.
Adisa expressed the delight about the increasing acceptance of the festival across the sub-Saharan Africa, as evident in the participation of individuals and brands from Ghana.
The Chairman, LAIF Management Board, Jay Chukwuemeka, commended the contestants for the exceptional work of creativity done, last year, despite the challenging times.
The event saw Insight Publicis emerge the Agency of The Year with 327 points, winning 7 Gold, 26 Silver, and 36 Bronze medals; while X3M Ideas came second with 10 Gold, 10 Silver and 8 Bronze medals. Noah’s Ark Communications emerged third, winning 3 gold, 10 silver, and 15 bronze medals.
