The 2019 rescheduled general elections have commenced peacefully in Sokoto town on Saturday with an impressive turnout of voters
A visit by our Correspondent to some of the polling units within the town shows an impressive turnout of voters already on queue before 8 am, waiting for the official time of INEC to start the business of the day.
Some of the areas visited includes Maniru road, Sokoto Cinema, Diplomat, Bauchi road and some other polling units already.
Speaking with the chairman of the All Progressive Congress in the State, Alhaji Isah Sadiq Achida, he commended Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for the arrangements made so far in the State.
He disclosed that people of the State are eager to cast their vote, saying some of the voters actually pass their night at their respective polling units.
