One of the world’s producers of precision-cut crystals for fashion and jewellery, Swarovski, has described Nigeria’s huge population and its fashion-savvy citizens, as holding a huge attraction for jewellery business.
Speaking at the opening of its new outlet in Nigeria, over the weekend, Regional Manager Africa, Swarovski, Mr John Burns stated that the decision to open an outlet in Nigeria, by the 125 year-old company, was informed by the need to bring to the doorsteps of Nigerians the company’s exquisite and affordable luxury pieces for the neck, fingers and wrists.
“Our new store in Nigeria aims at offering our discerning customers in the region a delightful experience as obtained in our other stores across the world.
“It also marks our foray into the Nigerian economy which we recognise has tremendous growth potential. It is, therefore, a perfect avenue for us to share our commitment to excellence, a sense of creativity, surprise and delight,” he added.
He added that the commissioning of the Ikeja Store brings to approximately 4,000 Swarovski stores in over 100 countries; while creating employment avenue for Nigerians to join the 29,000 global workforce of the Swarovski Crystal Business.
Speaking on the new outlet, Executive Director, Polo Limited, the official retail partner for Swarovski in Nigeria, Jennifer Obayuwana, assured jewellery customers that the same quality that Polo had been known, for since inception, would be brought to bear in its partnership with Swarovski.
“Jewellery lovers are therefore assured of authenticity and excellence. Their representative’s presence in Nigeria, is a seal of originality that Swarovski Nigeria is part of the global Swarovski family,” she stated.
