New Year: We must eschew divisive actions, unite to dislodge APC — LP Chieftain

Published by

The Director General, Directorate of Mobilisation and Integration of the Labour Party (LP), Marcel Ngogbehei, has charged Obidients and state coordinators of the party and all party members to desist from sowing seeds of discord within the Obidient movement and the Labour Party as it will weaken them as opposition.

Ngogbehei, in a New Year message, reminded the party faithful and Obidients in general that only a consolidated and united opposition can dislodge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

He urged the LP faithful to keep the fire of hope burning and remain steadfast in their shared purpose, which he said will inspire others with the same passion and vision.

“As we usher in this new year, I am filled with gratitude and hope for the incredible strides we have made together in the quest for a better Nigeria.

“You, the pillars of the Obidient Movement, have shown remarkable resilience, dedication, and belief in the vision of a united, equitable, and prosperous nation.

“This year, 2025, is the Year of Unveiling—a pivotal time to transform hope into action and dreams into reality. It is a time to consolidate our efforts, strengthen our ranks, and intensify our collective push toward the Nigeria we all desire.

“However, I must address a crucial matter: Those who sow seeds of discord within the Obidient movement must pause and rethink. Divisions weaken our resolve, dilute our strength, and play into the hands of those who have no interest in the people’s welfare. Only a consolidated, highly integrated, and united opposition can dislodge the APC from power in 2027,” he said.

The LP Chieftain further charged the party members and Obidients to put aside their differences and focus on the bigger picture, which he said is delivering Nigeria from the grip of inefficiency and restoring it to its rightful path.

“We need every voice, every heart, and every thumbprint to achieve this. To the faithful across all states and beyond, I urge you all to keep the fire of hope burning, to remain steadfast in our shared purpose, and to inspire others with the same passion and vision.

“Let us continue to work together, guided by the principles of integrity, equity, and justice, as we build momentum for the milestones ahead. The challenges are immense, but our determination is stronger. Let this year be a rallying point for deeper integration, collaboration, and preparation for the journey ahead.

Together, we are unstoppable. Together, we will build the Nigeria of our dreams,” he added.
