NDLEA nabs four suspected drug peddlers in Anambra

The Anambra State Command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested four suspects, one female and three males for drug business in the state.

They were arrested at different locations across the state with various substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa.

In a statement issued by Anambra NDLEA image-maker Mr Odigie Charles Efosa and made available to Tribune Online in Awka, on Monday, said the suspects were arrested following a raid operation carried out within the state.

The suspects are one Mrs Blessing Ibe, arrested in Okija, Inhiala local government area with Cannabis sativa, weighing 513 grammes, China Okpara arrested in Nibo, Awka South LGA with Cannabis sativa weighing 600 grammes, Sunday Igilije arrested in Amawbia Awka south LGA with cannabis Sativa weighing 45 grammes and Uche Mmadu arrested in Ekwulobia, Aguata LGA with cannabis Sativa weighing 100 grammes.

He said the raid which was a sting operation would be a continuous one in the state to reduce the incidences of drugs in the state.

He urged members of the public to provide necessary information to the agency to assist in curbing the menace of drugs because its negative effect outweighed whatever gains.

“Please give necessary information to the command, as regards drug activities in your communities,” Odigie concluded.
