THE Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission, Reverend Tor Uja, has tasked Nigeria leaders to invest more on youths, especially in areas of entrepreneurial development so as to tackle unemployment.
Reverend Uja who made this call while receiving the All Progressives Congress (APC) Grassroots Youths for Change, said the call for investment in entrepreneurship has become pertinent because according to him, is key to achieve sustainable national growth and self-reliance of young people in the country.
He said the investment will further enable Nigeria to build sustainable value chains of agriculture, modern technology and create necessary jobs for teeming unemployed graduates that churned out yearly from universities.”
He, however, urged Nigerian youths to be patriotic and take a stand for the country in order to bring change and revival to the nation.
He encouraged the youths not to depend on the government to provide jobs but rather use their young minds to create great ideas especially in the area of agriculture so that in no time Nigeria would be able to produce enough food for its citizens and the international market.
According to him: “Our visit to Israel should not just be a purpose of prayers and site visits, but a place we can draw inspiration from and replicate it in our country. Israel is a blessed nation with many lessons Nigeria can learn from.”
Earlier, the Coordinator, APC Grassroots Youths for Change, Henry Manuchimso Orlu, who lauded Rev Uja for his contribution to the growth of the Commission, requested for sponsorship of some of its members to embark on a pilgrimage to the holy land to pray for the country.
He said the aim is for them to go on pilgrimage not just to pray, but learn and return to the country to replicate lessons learnt from Israel.
He further said: “You have applied yourself to various endeavours where you have left marks that are not only indelible but envious. We will also request you to become one of our patrons.
