The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students has commended a member of the Federal House of Representatives, Honourable Dennis Idahosa, for paying school fees for over 100 students from his constituency in Edo State.
Idahosa, representing the Ovia Federal Constituency of the state was said to have also built and equipped over 15 primary and secondary schools with modern class room facilities in a single tenure.
NANS National vice president (special duties), Odiahi Thomas Ikhine, in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja said Hon Idahosa has in all ramifications proven that youthful representation is the most viable way forward.
“The astute gentleman has proven to all what it means to be a servant to the people with his leadership style and developmental strides,” he said.
According to him, the students’ community in Edo as a whole were impressed with his contribution to the education sector in his constituency.
“Building and equipping over 15 primary and secondary schools with modern classroom facilities in a single tenure is commendable.
“In addition, Hon Dennis Idahosa early this year saw to the school fees payment of over 100 students from his constituency,” Ikhine said.
He added that the lawmaker was also building town Halls, providing street lights, boreholes, building and equipping skills acquisition centers, giving financial empowerment to women, youths and men to support their means of livelihood among others.
“As the leader of the student and comrade community in Edo, I urge Hon. Dennis Idahosa to continue to deliver the dividends of his given mandate to the good people of Ovia Federal Constituency.
“I know that the good and intelligent people of Ovia Federal Constituency, mostly our members will most certainly reciprocate your good gesture in due time Sir.
“I am also using this medium on behalf of Edo people to appeal to other representatives at all federal level to consider emulating this distinguish colleague of theirs,” he said.
