NAFDAC to sanction master bakers in Kogi

National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) is to sanction any master bakers who failed to comply with the agency standard.

The Director General of NAFDAC, Mrs Christiana Adeyeye gave the warning in Lokoja, Kogi state, on Tuesday, during a workshop organised by the agency for Master Bakers on Compliance to Good Hygienic Practice.

The DG, who was represented by Director North Central zone, Mrs Julian Abayomi, said after the workshop, the agency will go round the state and sanction any baker that is found wanting.

According to her, such offender will pay a maximum of N100,000 and minimum of N50,000 to the agency, adding that most bakeries in the country operate in an environment that is not hygienic for production of bread which people consumed on daily basis.
