Sexy Nigerian singer, Mojisola Efe Ogungbesan, popular as Queen Fairy speaks on her latest song, ‘Money’. She also speaks on making good music, winning awards and her killer body and looks in this interview with SEGUN ADEBAYO.
How did music start for you?
Music started for me since I was a child because I was part of my church junior and senior choir and I think that is mostly how people who are in love with music like me start. When I loved how the church choir sang and joined them but officially it was 2005.
Did you always plan to become a music artiste?
Yes, I always did, I just could never get fulfillment with anything else.
Music artistes in Nigeria are a dime a dozen. What would you say is unique about your sound that makes you sure that you can compete effectively in the Nigerian music space?
I believe everyone is unique in their own way, so it’s my vibe for me because I know I am different and that spices it up for listeners of Nigerian music.
Tell us about your latest release, and how many songs have you dropped so far?
My latest release is ‘Money’, and it has an enjoyment atmosphere vibe. I have also dropped 10 songs officially.
What notable music awards are you hoping to clinch in the next few years?
I will like to win awards in my country Nigeria and other international awards too.
What inspires your music?
My music is mostly inspired by day-to-day activities of happenings around me.
How did you come about the name Queen Fairy?
Fairy has been my nickname given to me by my friends. Of course, I grew up and found out I was such a queen so I added it to the Fairy and now it’s Queen Fairy.
With a banging body like yours, how easy is it to focus on your business when distractions from men and women come calling?
My body is my body and not my personality, so I just focus because looks aren’t everything.
As a woman, what would you say is your biggest physical asset?
My face is my biggest physical asset because that is what people see first before anything else.
As a music artiste, hospitality investor, and entrepreneur, you’re a public figure of sorts. How do you handle all your roles?
I have always been a great multi-tasker, so it just comes easy to me since I am doing all the things I love.
Do you get weird proposals and attention from admirers, fans, and even stalkers especially on social media? What’s the weirdest request you have gotten and how did you handle it?
Too many requests to count but most of it is usually centred on my body so I’m really used to it and it’s not weird anymore.
Any plans to drop an album or EP?
Yes, I am already working on my EP and it’s dropping soon.
