Oja Oba/Mapo Court C Customary Court, Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State, has terminated the 13-year-old relationship between a woman, Rukayat Oladejo and her husband, Moruff Oladejo.
Rukayat had accused her husband of neglect, abandonment and threat to life.
She told the court she no more love her husband and therefore prayed that it ends their relationship.
In addition, she appealed to the court to put their three children in her care.
The defendant refused to come to court after being served a court summon and hearing.
Giving her evidence, she told the court that:”The 13 years I have spent with my husband have been rough and challenging. I have gone through hell married to him.
“My husband is the most irresponsible person I have ever met. He’s arrogant, insults me at every given opportunity and regularly sharks his responsibility at home. I have complained about these to no avail.

“I constantly save the situation at home because he doesn’t care about my lot and that of our three children. I feed and clothe our kids. I’m also responsible for their education. He’s not just bothered.
“Again, he’s in the habit of leaving home for days and sometimes weeks and would return when he pleases without giving any explanation as to his act.
“My lord, to cap it all, he now hates me. He always tells me he can’t stand me. He keeps threatening to get rid of me in a cruel manner. I’m afraid he could terminate my life suddenly and leave our children helpless and without care.
“I, therefore, pray the court to end our relationship and put our children in my care, “she stated.
Giving his judgment after listening to the plaintiff the court president, Chief Ademola Odunade stated that the defendant was obviously not interested in saving his marriage since he had refused to come to court after being served a court summon and hearing.
Ruling, he dissolved their marriage and granted custody of their children to the plaintiff.
The defendant was asked to be responsible for their upkeep and general welfare.
He was mandated to give their children N12, 000 monthly which has to be paid through the court.
According to him, the defendant must give their children education while health care must be given paramount attention.
